Challenge Area addressed

Accesibility & Inclusivity

COVID-19 has jeopardised the financial viability of shared vehicles and areas on two different fronts. It has led to a decrease in number of users, followed by an increase in the operational costs due to the necessary additional sanitation measures. A self-disinfecting surface able to provide permanent and passive protection for users provides a solution to this issue. For this purpose, Nano-Care has developed Liquid Guard®, a nanotechnology-based product able to eliminate microbes, including viruses, bacteria, and fungi. It can be applied on vehicle surfaces as well as textile parts such as helmets. User safety is therefore maximised.

Liquid Guard® is applied once directly onto the surface of the vehicle, after which it stays active. Additional human intervention is not needed, thus reducing the costs for the service providers, and increasing user safety.
